Heal Teeth Naturally – Without Expensive Dental Treatments

Heal Teeth Naturally – Without Expensive Dental Treatments

Can you heal teeth naturally? With the ongoing expensive dental treatments, people are searching for ways to heal teeth naturally.

Tooth DecayTooth enamel is the outer most layer of the tooth. It is a hard coating that protects the tooth from any infection. Below the enamel is the dentin, which is a softer layer and the most prone to cavities. When the tooth enamel erodes, it exposes the dentin to acid in the mouth. The acid eventually causes the tooth to form cavities, which if left untreated will get bigger, exposing the root and pulp of the tooth. When this happens, the tooth becomes painful. Most dentists will tell you that once a tooth is damaged, it is lost forever. And he or she will treat the tooth decay by drilling and filling up the cavity or if the root and pulp of the tooth have been damaged, a root canal is recommended. Such dental treatments may be harmful to health and they are not permanent solutions to strong and healthy teeth.

Heal Your Teeth Without Going to the Dentist. Possible?

Once a tooth is damaged or has a cavity, it has cannot heal on its own. This is what has been taught to everybody. However, dentists have reported seeing, damaged teeth that heal naturally without any medical aid. It is believed that if a cavity is small, it is possible for the tooth to heal on its own. Some people who believe that teeth are bones and bones can heal and regenerate. So, a tooth cavity if left alone can heal itself, it is just that we never give it a chance. As soon as a cavity is discovered, it is quickly filled up with some metal or porcelain.

There are many accounts of people who had their teeth heal naturally using different methods without any medical intervention. There was the case of all front teeth with badly damaged enamel completely replace while during fasting. There are instances of broken teeth growing back while on a natural food diet. Some people on raw food diet even reported regrowing their lost tooth.

Some People Believed That It Is Possible

Some people believed that the human body has the natural ability to regenerate and restore itself to health. Given the right conditions, it can recover from a disease, wounds can heal itself and bones regrow. So, it is the same with our teeth if given the chance to do so. We need to feed our bodies with the right nutrients so that it can do the job of healing itself. We have to stop doing things that are damaging to the teeth and feed our bodies with the right nutrients so that it can heal teeth naturally.

Many organic ways to heal dental cavities have been experimented by people in search of ways and means to repair their teeth naturally without having to undergo expensive dental treatments. These methods use natural ingredients and herbs and there have been documented accounts of individuals who have successfully used these to repair their teeth naturally. Such successes have also prompted manufacturers of oral hygiene products to come up with toothpaste and mouth rinse using natural products such as liquid calcium, baking soda, tea tree oil, xylitol and silica. In fact, researchers in recent years have been testing methods to repair teeth and even regrow teeth to replace the lost ones. The idea behind these methods is to assist the teeth to heal itself naturally.

Research Into Ways To Heal Teeth

In recent years, scientists have been doing extensive researches into ways to heal teeth naturally. Researchers are looking for alternatives to metal fillings, dentures and dental implants. Over time, dentures erode the underlying bone, dental fillings need to be replaced and dental implants are likely to fall out after many years of use. The tooth being able to repair itself or even regrow a new tooth is a healthier and cheaper alternative for most people.

The following are some known researches conducted by scientists:

1.Crystal Implants
Crystals contain calcium are implanted into dental cavities. The decayed tooth will use the calcium to regenerate and heal itself. Once this experiment is successful, it looks to replace the traditional fillings used. Currently, the metal fillings used by dentists need to be replaced when they are worn out. This natural way to repair teeth is the permanent solution.

2. Helsinki Research
If vertebrates can replace their lost teeth, can we get mammals to do the same? Researchers from the University of Helsinki have shown that it is possible to induce continuous tooth regeneration in mammals. The Wnt signaling pathway is important for the development of embryo and is used for cell communication. By stimulating this signaling pathway in a mouse, the researchers have successfully enabled the mouse to develop a number of new teeth, complete with dentin, tooth enamel and roots. This research raises the hope of possible continuous tooth regeneration in humans.

3. Stem Cells
A number of scientists are finding ways to regrow teeth using stem cells. Researchers from the Tokyo University of Science reported that they have successfully grown a tooth bud from stem cells taken from mouse embryos. The tooth bud was then transplanted into the liver of an adult mouse, where the increased blood helped to further develop the tooth. Finally, the tooth is inserted into an empty tooth cavity of the mouse, in which it grew to its full size.On the other hand, researchers at the Craniofacial Development at King’s College, London used stems from bone marrow to form teeth and then transplanted them into tooth cavities of mice. However, obtaining stem cells from human bone marrow is a painful process and the researchers are still looking for better accessible stem cells that are able to form teeth. An article in the Journal of Dental Research described how researchers used enzymes to isolate immature tooth cells from pigs and then placed the cells inside rats to develop. Within thirty weeks, small tooth crowns complete with dentin and enamel were formed.

4. Low-Intensity Pulsed Ultrasound (LIPUS) Technique
Ultrasound, the safe and less expensive form of diagnostic imaging widely used in the medical field. What a lot of people did not know is that the high-intensity acoustic waves of ultrasound have healing effects. Ultrasound has been known to trigger the growth of stem cells. Stems cells will generate the growth of tissues. Dr. Tarek El-Bialy, an orthodontist from the University of Alberta’s dentistry faculty in research using ultrasound to lengthen the lower jaws in rabbits. The experiment was successful and he also found that teeth have started to grow as well. He then progresses to a study on human beings to see if ultrasound could be used to stop damage to the roots of teeth for those who wear braces. The result of this study showed that the tooth which was given a dosage of ultrasound daily was not damaged and it actually had more dental tissue than previously. However, there was a problem with the fact that the ultrasound device was very big and during the experiment, the subject had to hold it in his mouth for 20 minutes daily. Together with a team from the engineering faculty, they design an ultrasound device that is tiny enough to sit inside a person’s mouth. This device called low-intensity pulsed ultrasound, in short LIPUS is less than a centimeter long and is powered by a tiny battery. It can be used for various purposes. One idea to have the device embedded in bandages, to heal bones naturally.Further research is being carried out on using LIPUS to regrow pulp and dentin at a faster rate for senior people. So far, Dr. El-Bialy has only been successful in the growth of the inner teeth but not the enamel. Further research is being carried out on the use of ultrasound to repair damaged or broken teeth.

Using Natural Ingredients To Heal Teeth

Some people practise using natural ingredients to maintain and heal their teeth to keep them healthy and strong. Some methods of using natural ingredients include the following:

  1. Brush teeth with sea salt. Sea salt is healing and can reverse tooth sensitivity. Some brands of toothpaste Thyme to heal gum diseasescontain sea salt.
  2. Natural food diets. Some people who are on raw food diets have reported having their tooth cavities filled up naturally and some even reported that missing teeth have regrown.
  3. Take at least 5gm of xylitol daily. Studies have shown that frequent use of xylitol repair tooth decay and regenerates receding gum.
  4. Using various herbs such as thyme, licorice and myrrh to heal gum diseases and prevent plaque formation.
  5. Rinse mouth with warm saltwater at least twice a day. The saltwater will easily remove any food lodged in the tooth and kill any bacteria that may be causing tooth decay.
  6. Some people have tried using calcium powder to fill up the tooth cavity to assist the tooth to heal on its own.

Going The Natural Way

There are many people including some dentists believed that our teeth can heal on its own. To help our teeth heal naturally, we need to change our eating habits and practise the correct oral hygiene habits. Eating the right type of food, avoid sugary foods and practise good oral hygiene will help to prevent to cavity and help the tooth remineralised.

Through the right diet and good oral hygiene habits, we can help heal our teeth naturally and it is cheaper and better way than expensive dental habits. So why not go the natural way.
